MaKey MaKey is a circuit board kit that can be used to connect objects with a computer, transforming those objects into computer keys or mouse clicks. With it, you can invent new devices, instruments, and controllers, or remix familiar game controllers.
Design a game controller to connect with a Scratch Game you've created!
STEP 1: Gather materials (Makey Makey Kit, Cardboard strip, playdoh)
STEP 2: Make a base for your game controller from cardboard.
STEP 3: Mold keys of similar size (any color!) from playdoh and arrange and center them on the cardboard base so none are touching.
STEP 4: Connect alligator pins to Makey Makey arrow keys then plug them into the playdoh based on the position they are in.
(i.e. up to up, right to right)
STEP 5: Plug USB to computer connect to Makey Makey. Red lights will turn on!
STEP 6: Add a clip to the Spacebar.
Step 7: Explore ways your game controller can play your Scratch Programs that are driven by key presses. Try other keys (w, a, s, d...) on the back of the Makey Makey by connecting single gauge wires to those. Connect 'Earth' to you or your watch band!
